Wow! The 2-12-12 Yellow House Event is now history, but not forgotten!

We owe a lot of thanks: To the Yellow House folks and volunteers who made the event possible. Also to the musicians, those who donated chili and deserts and silent auction items. And also to all of you who came to the event and took part in the activities. If you took some pictures please share them with us. Email them to myron@kz88.org
The silent auction was a fun way to get some great items.
The music was fantastic.
It was a great time to visit with friends and neighbors.

Last week was one of those "roller coaster" weeks. I was out of town Thursday for the first time in what seems like months. Of course that's the day some major technical issues would take place. The next day I had to skip my show and eventually skip the request show due to a dental emergency on my part. Who would have thought that the nearest dentist open on Fridays would be 40 miles away? Enough of that. Now for the good news...

Thanks to all of you for helping us reach our "chip-in" goal for repairs at the KZ88 transmitter site. I am really excited about getting this project underway. We could not have done this without your help. It means a lot to us as volunteers and I'm sure you'll be able to hear the difference when we are finished.

I will keep you posted on the progress and I'll try to post some pictures as well so you can see what is happening.

Hi Everyone,

We're at 84% of our goal We are very close and we thank you for your support. However we still need to raise the remaining funds so we can begin the audio repair project at the transmitter. We need $680. It's that simple. A tower person will have to be on the tower for an extended time to make the repairs and replace cables that are continuing to cause problems. The clock truly is ticking. I personally have done everything possible to work around the problems and there is nothing more I can do. Let's get this project going! Let's get KZ88 back on track with quality audio AND audio reliability. It's going to be a group effort and by reading this I hope you are a part of the group. Chip in what you can. Everything helps. What you can do will make a difference...in this case one you can hear. Thank you!

Thanks to all of you who have chipped-in to help us raise funds for needed transmitter site audio repairs. As of the first day of the new year we are at 77% of our goal. That is impressive and means a lot to us. If you haven't chipped-in yet please do so. Any amount is appreciated and it all goes towards making our repair project possible. Help us get our audio quality and reliability back to where it should be. Please tell your friends and ask them to chip-in as well. Thanks to all of you for your support in 2011. We look forward to a better 2012 and want you to be a part of KZ88.

A huge thanks to those of you who have responded to this special request. As of tonight we are at about 36% of our goal. That means there's still quite a ways to go. But I must say that it is encouraging to see support from our listeners and members at a crucial time like this.

If there were any other way to restore our audio reliability and quality we would have done it. Thank you for your support. It means a lot to us!

You’ve heard about it on the air and you’ve read about it on this website. Did you notice the chip-in widget on our front page or at the top of our forum? It’s simple. we need your help now.

We’re an all-volunteer community radio station. We’ve been operating on a shoestring budget for about 2 1/2 years. There’s nothing wrong with that as such.

The problem is that in order to keep our operating costs low we do have to skimp somewhere. After 2 1/2 years that skimping is becoming evident. Have you heard some of the audio interruptions? It needs to be fixed. Have you noticed some audio quality problems? Yet another issue. We have worked around problems in the past as we have a very well engineered transmission system. But we’ve reached the point where the backups and work-arounds are failing. It’s that simple. It’s going to cost money to fix them. there is no longer an alternative just to get by.

Please chip in what you can today. Any amount is appreciated. The sooner we raise the money, the sooner we can resume normal operations. Your support of community radio is vital to us and we appreciate what you do.

Please tell your friends about our station and be sure they know of our need as well.

If you don’t have or want to use a credit card you can send a check or money order directly to us at:
